I came of conservative-age during the Reagan administration, waking up from a Jimmy Carter-induced liberal coma and walking into the bright light of optimistic life-affirming Reaganism. I have watched a left of liberal serve as President for four years, and starting a fresh four full of anything but promise. On May 1, 2010, President Obama delivered the commencement address to the graduates of the University of Michigan. The AP reported on the content of his speech thusly:
“In a blunt caution to political friend and foe, President Obama said Saturday that partisan rants and name-calling under the guise of legitimate discourse pose a serious danger to America’s democracy, and may incite ‘extreme elements’ to violence.”
Having endured a decade of “partisan rants” from liberals, I’ve had enough. If speaking up for my beliefs in a vehement, passionate way is consider a Partisan Rant, then I’m going to take advantage of the door Obama opened for me and let ‘er rip. Please join me.
